Queen Chrysalis is a female changeling and the main adversary of the flavor two finale, the season six finale, the IDW comics' kickoff story arc, Budge Studios' mobile game Harmony Quest, and one of the main antagonists of the season nine finale. She is the queen of the changelings and a shapeshifter who appears as Princess Cadance in gild to hypnotize her fiancé Shining Armor, invade Canterlot, and eventually accept over Equestria.
In the flavour six finale, Chrysalis is dethroned from her position as changeling queen. In the season nine premiere, she, along with Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow, joins forces with Grogar to defeat the Mane 6 and conquer Equestria. She is defeated by the Mane 6 and their allies in the flavour ix finale, and turned to stone along with Tirek and Cozy.

Meghan McCarthy, Rob Renzetti, and Lauren Faust came up with Chrysalis together.[2] While on-screen the grapheme is merely introduced as "queen of the changelings" in A Canterlot Wedding - Part two, she is named Chrysalis in the episode'due south script,[iii] Japanese version, and iTunes and Netflix summaries, also as in merchandise, including toys, trading cards, and various books. My Little Pony: FIENDship is Magic Issue #5 reveals the origins of Chrysalis and her changelings; she was built-in from a carnivorous found in a magical pond that fed on insects and bones. Some time later, she conquered the cities of Timbucktu and Trot, but she was defeated past Princess Celestia and imprisoned in a volcano. She and the changelings eventually escaped by tricking a dragon into releasing them. At the end of the issue, Chrysalis escapes from her castle prison by tricking Twilight Sparkle in a like way.

In My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Issue #34, Chrysalis reappears at the Crystal Empire with a horde of changelings and challenges Twilight to some other battle of magic, which she loses due to Atomic number 26 Will's interference and is captured along with the other conspirators. In the crossover mini-series My Little Pony/Transformers, Chrysalis, in search of changeling allies, casts a spell that accidentally brings the Autobots and Decepticons of the Transformers franchise to Equestria. She forges an alliance with Megatron, the Decepticon leader, shortly after. In Issue #4, she and the Decepticons invade the Crystal Empire, with Chrysalis satisfied that even if her forces lose, the Autobots and Decepticons' war volition ravage Equestria for years to come. When Spike and Grimlock appear through the repaired spacebridge, Chrysalis orders her changelings to retreat, leaving the Decepticons to exist forced to render to Cybertron.
Chrysalis makes a brief appearance (via flashback) in My Footling Pony: Friendship is Magic Result #100. She also appears on Comprehend A of Issue #101. A stone landscape of her appears on page 5 of Upshot #102. On the last page, Chrysalis is shown still frozen in rock with Tirek and Cozy Glow since the events of The Ending of the End - Part 2, though the stone appears to exist slowly cracking.
Merchandise
Toy releases of the character were displayed at the 2013 New York Toy Fair. It included a Toys "R" Us sectional brushable release in Summer 2013.[13] and a mini-effigy.[14] An Equestria Girls version of Queen Chrysalis has been shown in artwork[1] and released equally a doll.
